Awards and Recognition

At Microchip, we are proud to have been recognized many times for our successes and accomplishments. Below are just a few of the awards we have received recently:

  • Training Magazine named Microchip to its 2015 "Training Top 125" list, which ranks companies' excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs. Microchip moved from 107 in 2014 to100 in 2015. Microchip is the only semiconductor company to appear on this list.
  • Microchip ranked in the top 10 for the 2015 edition of Ranking Arizona Magazine, in their Manufacturing: Electronic category. Ranking Arizona is the outcome of the largest business opinion poll in Arizona. Each category is selected by the staff of AZ Business Magazine for the general public to vote on.
  • As of 2014, Microchip won the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility for eight straight years. The award distinguishes Microchip as one of the top practitioners of workplace flexibility in the United States, which have created exemplary workplace environments that support employees' need for flexibility. The award is part of the When Work Works flexible-workplace initiative, a partnership between the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Families and Work Institute (FWI).
  • Selling Power Magazine named Microchip to its annual "50 Best Companies to Sell For" for the second time–remaining the only semiconductor company on the list in 2014.
  • Microchip President and CEO Steve Sanghi recently received four separate honors. Bloomberg named him to its Top 10 lists of both the lowest-paid CEOs and longest-serving tech CEOs. Embedded Computing Design Magazine named him to its 2014 list of the Top Embedded Innovators, while AZ Business Magazine named Sanghi one of its 25 Most Influential Minority Business Leaders in Arizona of 2014.
  • Newsweek ranked Microchip in the top 50%, for its 2014 Newsweek Green Rankings of the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the United States (the U.S. 500), based on overall environmental performance using eight clearly defined key performance indicators.
  • Microchip was named to the 2014 Bay Area News Top Workplaces list for the third year in a row. The Top Workplaces program is run by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, and recognizes good employers on 30 regional lists, in conjunction with regional publishing partners that produce special sections profiling the winners (in this case, the Bay Area News). The evaluations for the list are based purely on employee opinions, which are gathered through the proprietary WorkplaceDynamics employee survey.
  • Az Business Magazine named Microchip the winner of its 2014 Industry Leaders of Arizona Award in the Technology category. These awards recognize the contributions and impact of Arizona companies, with one annual winner in each of five key industries–commercial real estate, technology, manufacturing, entertainment and education. Companies are weighted and judged by industry standards for revenue, growth, employee count and financial health. Microchip was one of 30 finalists selected from among the many companies that completed an application and were interviewed by members of the selection committee.
  • Az Business Magazine named Microchip CEO Steve Sanghi to their 2014 list of the 25 Most Influential Minority Business Leaders in Arizona.
  • Microchip was selected as one of "Arizona's Most Admired Companies" for 2012 by AZ Business Magazine and Best Companies AZ, for the second year in a row. Microchip earned the award based on its excellence in four categories–workplace culture, leadership excellence, corporate and social responsibility, and customer opinion.
  • Microchip was named one of the 2012 Top 50 Best Companies to Work for in India, based on a recent study conducted by the Great Place to Work® Institute.
