Job Description

Microchip Technology Incorporated 16-bit processors are at the heart of a huge variety of products from industrial applications to automotive and consumer. The position is for a College Graduate with 0 to 3 years of experience to join the Applications Team developing state of the art algorithms and solutions for motor control to be executed of the large product portfolio of 16-bit dsPICs. Typical responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Collaborate with other team members to search, develop, test, and document algorithms dedicated to motor control
  • Contribute to the development of new circuit boards and reference designs including schematic design, layout, testing, and production
  • Develop, test, and document dsPIC motor control firmware for publication

Job Requirements

  • Excellent academic achievements
  • BSEE required with coursework in control theory and digital control
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Continuous learner / open to learning new technical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work in collaborative group environment across different geographies
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, and basic analog circuitry
  • Good programming skills, software experience with C, and structured programming

 

Experience with any of the following is desirable but not required:

  • Motor control theory
  • Digital signal processing techniques
  • Power electronics
  • Python
  • MATLAB
  • Usage of ADCs and DACs
  • Component tolerance analysis
  • Version control software (Subversion, Git)
