Job Description

8-bit MCU Applications Engineer will support Microchip's PIC10/PIC12/PIC16/PIC18 and AVR products.  Responsibilities include:

  • Develop collateral such as application notes, technical briefs, technical articles and reference designs for new products and peripherals

  • Develop reference design hardware and firmware for new devices and products

  • Develop and present technical training such as webinars, hands-on workshops, etc. to customers, sales and field application engineers

  • Work directly with customer and field support teams to develop and debug designs

  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects that run simultaneously

Job Requirements

  •   Familiarity with PIC and AVR architecture and tool chain
  •   Strong software skills to develop embedded software using Microchip's products and toolchain
  •   Customer support and training
  •   Creating application notes, technical briefs and training materials etc
  •   BS or MS in Electronics, computer Science or similar
  •   Strong C, Java skills are a plus
  •   Be able to read and interpret written specifications and implement software solutions to those specifications
  •   Must have and understanding of analog and digital circuit design and debugging
  •   Practical lab experience – oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal analyzers etc
  •   Fluent in English – written and oral
  •   Experience with software development, modeling and design tools is preferred
  •   Agile programming and project management knowledge is preferred
  •   Experience with Python and C++ is a plus
  •   Previous work experience is desired, but not required
  •   Some traveling may be required
