Come join Microchip and be the first sales team we train straight out of a university.The web has changed everything in how information is distributed, absorbed and filtered. Sales people no longer deliver product information as that comes from the web. Sellers must deliver value with their ability to understand the customer business and show how Microchip helps our customers (clients) make money, reduce development cost and manage innovation risk over the entire product life cycle.

Phase 1 – activities, learning the Microchip Client Engagement Process in Chandler AZ with our Sales Enablement team

Are you curious about different business models & industries? Microchip has over 100,000 clients worldwide in every electronics application and industry using electronics so no such thing as a standard sales approach.

  • Learn the Microchip Client Engagement Process (MCEP) focused on delivering value to the customer
    • Develop an understanding, communicate with decision makers, target decision points, drive to closure and verify value created with decision makers, win or lose
    • Learn sales processes like Challenger Selling to develop and deliver your value story
    • Learn to navigate client organizations to determine decision makers
    • Learn the Microchip “buy side” funnel process that emphasizes how clients buy, not how we sell
  • Develop standard business sales approaches, learn by doing. Includes call preparation guides, storyboards and client ready material tailored to different industries and client role, like R&D, purchasing, manufacturing and/or marketing.
  • Participate in team call preparation meetings using our “Plan, Do, Review” sales process

Phase 2 – begin the transition to our field sales team

You will select a sales geography target for your field assignment. Begin working with the regional sales leadership to learn territory, clients and local team so you can integrate quickly to your field office assignment.

  • Joint development of Client Engagement Plans (CEP) for select clients in the territory to help co-create value for the client. Provide research on industry or business insight to help the client “Think Different.”
  • Travel to selected territory for joint sales calls with current seller to observe real sales calls. Observe sales calls in all 8 funnel stages to observe the entire “buying” process
  • Identify initial client assignments at least 6 months before transition to field sales office and begin preparing the Client Engagement Plans to implement on arrival

Job Requirements

  1. Degree in business/marketing with sales emphasis or related field and must have graduated within the last two years (please note this is an entry level role)

  2. Solid business acumen to understand, develop and deliver business value in monetary terms

  3. Value based sales experience is a plus but we will train if needed but you have a strong passion for sales

  4. Multi-lingual skills are highly desired

  5. Experience in multi-cultural teams is plus as we perform team selling

  6. B2B/B2C marketing skills applied to our sales team and current clients to find latent needs
