RF IC Design Engineer - New College Grad (NCG)

Job Description

The candidate will be a member of the Lake Forest, CA Wireless Solutions group (advance technology and product WLAN).  The design engineer will be responsible for the design and testing of the WLAN IC and its interface with the base-band PHY.  The candidate must be a team player, self-motivated with excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.


  • Hands on experience/research in the field of WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac circuit design

  • RF circuit design:  LNA, Down-converted & Up-converted Mixers, and PA driver

  • High-frequency Mixed-Signal circuit design:  PLL, Clock generator, clock driver, regulators

  • Layout knowledge

  • Silicon debug and evaluation through in-house automation tools

  • System simulation and performance analysis with customized and industry standard tools such as Cadence simulation tool, verifications and layout, and Matlab

  • Design documentation and IP generation

Job Requirements

  • PhD degree in circuit design and 0-2 years of applicable experience in WLAN with a CMOS RF/Analog/Mixed-Signal experience

  • An in-depth knowledge of WLAN standard is a plus

  • Experience in high-speed, low-power, and design-for-manufacturability in CMOS

  • Working knowledge of communication theory and data-modulation techniques

  • Be able to work in a group setting, work with team members to resolve technical issues

  • Estimate time to accomplish tasks, identify and resolve schedule issues, and meet deadlines

  • Communicate progress regularly

  • Working knowledge of communication theory and data-modulation techniques
